Shared Custody

shared custodyWhen parents split up and no longer live together it can be a tough and confusing time for kids. We talk about this in the family separation hot topic.

When family separation happens, decisions have to be made about who lives where, and how much time each parent gets to spend with their kids. In some cases, shared custody is decided as the best option.

Shared custody - what does it mean?

Shared custody means that parents share caring for the kids, pretty much half each. In a shared custody arrangement kids move between two homes - half a week in one house and half a week in the other, or sometimes one week in one house and one week in the other.
