Alcoholic parents

Nine years ago both my mother and father went to hospital. To be honest, back then I had no idea why and it didn't really affect me until later on in my life. Both of my parents were alcoholics. About a year ago, my mum got completely out of control and we had to send her to hospital and call the police. It was hard for a 14 year old to see their own mother get arrested. She got some help off doctors and counsellors etc and she promised me, my little and older sister that she would never drink again or let us down how she did.
At this point, I was depressed and abusing weed and smoking cigarettes at my young age but my parents never knew. My mum ended up getting out of control many times after that. There was many times when I thought I would say goodnight to my mum and wake up in the morning with her not breathing.
My parents got a divorce after that and I'm officially in my dad's care yet mum still lives with us for the time being. Mum is going to rehab in a few weeks for a year. It will be hard but when she gets out, life can go back to how it should be. Since then I have given up smoking weed and cigarettes and life is looking more positive now.
